Note that the gerbers included with this project plot the bottom copper layer. They can be used to attach extra wires or components, if desired. The middle two barrier block terminals are not connected to anything. The PCB can be screwed into the adapter body or glued, making sure that the PCB sits flush or just under the inside surface of the adapter body. The middle terminals on the PCB should be cut down to half-height as shown using a dremel or file. Trace isolation, holes, and board cutout are all done with the same 0.025" regular length end mill. The circuit board was milled on a Nomad 883 Pro CNC. The adapter body was printed in PLA with a 0.3mm layer height. If the C1 and C3 terminals are connected without the switch depressed, two cells are shorted together which instantly bricks the battery (won't charge or run tools.) These are normally used for cell balancing during charging, but with the switch depressed, they can be connected together to produce 60v at the B+/- terminals. I will be getting a few more in the future. The Flexvolt battery incorporates a switch in the body of the battery which, in part, controls if the battery is wired up in series (60v) or parallel (20v.) The other piece of the puzzle is the connection between the C1 and C3 terminals. They are well built, lock on the battery easily and pop off quick too. This works great! I've been wanting to tap into these batteries for a while and considered making my own adapter, but I found these for $15 a piece and couldn't pass them up. Used it to convert a Power Wheels car to 20v. I Used it to replace the lead acid battery in my kids power wheel, they absolutely love it.įits and works perfectly. This very well made! the 3d printing was done in a very tight pattern and was perfectly dimensioned. I also am using it to power a DEWESoft data acquisition system instead of a 120vac to 20vdc power supply. Initially purchased to supplement Dyson's vacuum cleaner battery. I expect I will buy more for other projects. Posted by Franklin D Bartels on Mar 29th 2021 Using this to power a vexilar ice sonar! Works perfect and good quality! Posted by Jonathan Nielsen on Dec 31st 2021 DeWalt batteries are 20 V so will certainly start a 12 volt vehicle!!!! Just add alligator clips and jump start a dead or cold battery. I carry a 4-6 AH or bigger battery with me all the time anyway.
